Colourful Canvas

Well known artist Samiran Boruah is one personality who has left his colourful imprints on the artistic canvas of the state. Currently working as curator in the Assam State Museum, Boruah has done extensive research on Assamese manuscripts. He received a research grant from the India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore, for conducting study and documentation of the Assamese manuscript paintings.
Neo-ethnic food - A fast growing trend

The Northeast Indian palate is host to a set of tastes that refl ects a blend of different ethnic groups. And the reason behind this seems to be geographical. While it’s very much a part of the Indian kitchen that boasts of its spices and curry, Northeast Indian food also shares similar cuisine preferences with neighbouring Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand and China as well.
